The Westin Verasa Napa Hotel is located just off downtown Napa. The Napa/ Sonoma wine country is probably the most famous wine country in North America. This Starwood resort is one of the most luxurious options. Room rates hover around $499 most days in fall. The hotel is also available for 16,000 Starpoints per night.





For my stay I used one of the Starwood Platinum suite upgrades. It was confirmed right away - however when I arrived at the hotel the suite appeared taken. After the ensuing confusion the front desk manager came to apologize and explain why the suite would be unavailable for the time. However a suite became available several hours later.

























The staff was incredible friendly and lavishly compensated me for the oversight so I was very happy with the outcome.

Pros:

- the hotel is beautiful and stylish in a modern, classic, wine country style

- there is a complimentary wine tasting every night in the lobby

- the rooms are large and the one bedroom suites are gigantic

- the suites have two full bathrooms including showers, which is pretty unique

- the pool is gorgeous and surprisingly quiet, there are a number of cabanas for your use

- the $20 resort fee includes valet parking and Internet, unfortunately there is no Platinum discount (Plats already have free Internet)

- all staff interactions were super friendly and warm

Cons:

- it's really expensive when paying the regular room rate

- the Platinum breakfast isn't really something to write home about, it's just ok

This has been my 3rd stay at the hotel and I very happily come back. It's one of the best hotels in the area and the suite upgrades make it a very good place to spend a couple of nights exploring wine country.
