DoubleTree by Hilton Mexico City Airport Area Review

After spending almost 3 weeks in Latin America struggling to find any English speakers, it was great to get a reply in fluent English when I called the front desk of the DoubleTree by Hilton Mexico City Airport Area to get a hotel shuttle.
Apparently it's a good idea to line up at Gate 4 - this is actually Exit 4 from the Terminal 2 building and it took me a while to comprehend that.
To my surprise, the shuttle driver came by quickly and spoke fluent English as well. The hotel is about a 20 minute ride from the airport.
The DoubleTree is right next to a Walmart shopping center that has a number of retail and restaurant options.
The room was very well-appointed - spacious, cool and with high quality furnishings. The bed had a fantastic warm cover and the internet was free and fast. It was much faster than the usual 2 Mbit you get once a hotel installs HHonors WiFi.
I has a great night's rest before heading out to the airport at 4.30AM again. The hotel was able to provide me a breakfast to-go for my super-early departure in lieu of my Hilton Diamond breakfast - great touch!
The shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 4AM, which is a great service. Many airport hotels that I've selected before have had a shuttle, just not at the hours that I may have needed them (between midnight and 6AM they usually don't run it at all).
All in all, this is a great option for an extended layover. Super-friendly staff, good hardware and a nice location. Couldn't ask for more for an airport stay.
