What's the deal with theIHG employee rate?
One of the excellent discounts that the InterContinental Hotels Group offers to its employees is the IHG Employee Room Benefit Programme. It's available to employees of IHG and its subsidiaries and affiliates, as well as employees of hotels that IHG and its subsidiaries and affiliates own, manage or franchise. All full-time or permanent part-time employees are eligible for the benefitonce their employment of more than 90 days has been validated.

What discount can I get by usingtheIHG employee rate?
The actual employee discount depends on the Average Daily Rate range of the hotel where anemployee wants to stay. IHG states that ifthe Average Daily Rate is $74 or less, the discounted rate is $29. If the ADR is $75 to $99.99, then the discounted rate is $39. If the ADR is $100 to $124.99, the discounted rate is $49. For properties with an ADR of at least $125, the discounted rate is $59.
With this in mind, you can see that IHG employees can make significant savings when using the benefit.
How do I get theIHG employee rate?
IHG employees can access the Room Benefit Programme here if you have validated your IHG Rewards Club Member number already. You can search for hotels and make a reservation by logging in to your IHG Rewards Club account as usual.
If you have a Merlin ID, you can validate your IHG Rewards Club Member number by following the instructions here. You'll need to log in to Merlin and edit your profile to be able to make any employee rate bookings.

Whatelse do I need to know abouttheIHG employee rate?
Only eligible employees are entitled to the Room Benefit Programme, the rate must be booked online and you must show proper identification at check-in at the hotel. Plus IHG employees need to take note of the Room Benefit Programme Code of Conduct - in particular the fact that if the programme is abused, the benefit can be revoked.
