Park Inn by Radisson Nairobi Westlands Review
The Park Inn by Radisson Nairobi is a brand-new development right next to Westlands' busiest roundabout at Wayaki Way. The hotel just opened in May 2017 and is part of a hotel boom gripping the city with the ibis Styles Tune Hotel and a Pullmanjust opened.
Check-in was very quick and easy without any long bureaucracy. While I was being checked in, I marveled at the beautiful breakfast area with a lovely patio.
My hotel room on the 9th floor had a gorgeous view over the city, especially at sunset. The room was up to the brand standard and had the beautiful LED mood lighting that all new Park Inns get (see my review for the Park Inn Libreville).
The Internet was easy to connect to and was stable at 4 Mbit. The air conditioning worked perfectly in seconds and was quiet, and I loved setting it to a very low temperature and using the warm comforter to stay warm.My room was also absolutely quiet despite the loud road close by and the bed and bedding were some of the best in the industry.
The bathroom looked great but the shower barely had enough pressure. On day one, the temperature was too cold, day two it was too hot and on the last day, it was somewhere in-between but still the pressure was much too low.
The staff seemed really concerned, though, and I got a call every afternoon seeing if everything was okay.
The hotel is in a perfect location to enjoy Westlands and almost all venues are within walking distance.
In sum, this is a lovely base from where to explore Nairobi. If they can fix some of the teething issues, it would be perfect and way above brand standards. At $100, that's quite amazing!
