The Haven Bali Seminyak Review
The Haven Bali Seminyak appears on most OTAs (like Expedia and Booking.com) for around $50 a night most of the year. The hotel is located along Seminyak's busiest road and just behind Double Six Beach - one of the best (and also one of the busiest) beaches along the western shore of Bali.
I wasn't sure what I could expect from my booking and walked in at noon. Check-in was friendly, fast and very organized in fluent English. Certainly better than most hotels in Indonesia where guests checking in is a constant source of confusion to front desk attendants.
My booked room type wasn't ready but I wasn't choosy and just wanted a shower. The room I got had a gorgeous view over the pool and had a simple, minimalist but functional design, with lots of exposed concrete.
Bali is one of the world's hottest creations and you won't ever be too cold.
The room wasn't huge but the right size and the bathroom looked great (though it was a bit on the older side).
The Internet came in at 20 Mbit and would never slow down - thanks in part to the WiFi router in each room. It was easily the fastest Internet I'd had in Indonesia so far.
The pool is small but has about a dozen benches and refreshingly cold water. I did not find it difficult to find a seat.
Given how far back most rooms stretch, the road noise was pretty minimal. The outdoor walkways are prone to be noisy though and created most of the noise in the hotel.
I did not eat at the hotel, though the restaurant offers a great way to people-watch in busy Seminyak.
The hotel isn't a luxurious resort but does everything right, with the room design, good housekeeping, friendly staff, lightning-fast Internet and incredibly low rates. Loved this little place.
