Hilton Honors Extending Loyalty Benefits
In order to drive up interest in travel again, some of the biggest airlines and hotel chains have been putting out interesting promotions and sales for their customers. Recently we saw World of Hyatt extending points expiration, and postpone some award changes. You can find all the World of Hyatt loyalty program updates here. Now, Hilton announced some temporary Honors program changes for 2021 that can help all of the members earn more points and earn elite status easier.
Hilton Honors Extending Loyalty Benefits
Hilton Honors announced some updates making it easier for members to earn points and keep or earn their elite status. Hilton Honors will be extending elite status to March 31, 2022, for Silver, Gold, and Diamond members that were set to downgrade in 2020, which is a great update. Members will be able to enjoy full benefits and keep their status longer. Also, no points will expire until December 31, 2021. Status qualification requirements will be lowered making it easier to achieve elite status. All 2020 nights will automatically roll over to the 2021 calendar year to help Hilton Honors members upgrade their tier status even faster.

Hilton loyalty program updates include:
-Extending Points Expiration - No points will expire until December 31, 2021
-Status Extensions - Elite members can keep their current status through March 31, 2022, even those who were scheduled to downgrade in 2021
-Earn Milestone Bonuses Faster – Members can earn 10,000 points for every 10 nights they stay, starting at 20 nights, instead of 40, in 2021
-Lower Status Qualification Requirement – Starting January 1, members can earn status with half the nights, stays, or base points required in 2021. Also, all your 2020 nights will rollover to next year making it easier and faster to upgrade your status. What that means is that in order to achieve Silver status a member must complete 5 nights, 2 stays, or 12,500 base points. To get Gold status a member must complete 20 nights, 10 stays, or 37,500 base points. Finally, to get Diamond status a member must complete 30 nights, 15 stays, or 60,000 base points.
-Lower Gifting Status Night Threshold –Diamond members who stay 30 nights in 2021 will be able to gift Gold status, which was previously 60 nights, or 60 nights to upgrade the gift to Diamond status, which was previously 100 nights
