New Marriott Bonvoy Global Promotion and Program Updates
In order to drive up interest in travel again, some of the biggest airlines and hotel chains have been putting out interesting promotions and sales for their customers. Marriott just announced some positive updates to the Bonvoy program. Also, they announced the details of the first global promotion for 2021!
Marriott Bonvoy Q1 Global Promotion
Marriott Bonvoy just announced details of its first global promotion of 2021. The Q1 promotion will be available for a limited amount of time, between February 16 and April 27, 2021. During the promotional period, Marriott Bonvoy members will be able to earn double points and double elite qualifying nights on all paid stays of 2 or more nights.
Details of the promotion:
-Members can earn double points and double Elite Night Credits for stays of two nights or more, between February 16, 2021, and April 27, 2021
-After you register for the promotion, you can earn on stays during the promotional period. Stays made prior to registration are not eligible to earn bonus points for this promotion. Registration for this promotion will start soon!
-There is no limit to the number of bonus points you can earn during the promotion
-Award stays alone do not count towards the promotion, only stays with at least one paid night will count

Marriott Bonvoy Elite Benefit Guarantees
Back in March of 2020 Marriott Bonvoy suspended elite guarantee compensation because of the pandemic. Now, Marriott announced that Elite Guarantees are again in place starting January 11, 2021! Hotels now need to offer breakfast and lounge alternatives, or bonus points, guaranteed room type, and welcome amenities. This is great news for all the Marriott Bonvoy elite members!
Guaranteed Elite Benefits will include:
-All elite tiers will now get a reservation guarantee
-Guaranteed room type
-Platinum Elite and Titanium Elite will receive a special gift upon arrival at participating hotels, with a choice of an amenity gift or points
-Access to the lounge for member plus one guest
-Guaranteed room type

Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Lower Spending requirement
Marriott just announced some updates for the Bonvoy loyalty program. The Ambassador status spending requirement will be lowered. Previously, the Ambassador status required 100 elite nights and $20,000 in qualifying spending in a calendar year. With the new update, in 2021 the Ambassador status spending requirement will be lowered to $14,000. Another great update from Marriott!
